About Me.

Elizabeth May (EMay) is a queer filmmaker, designer, and theatre maker based in Brooklyn. They create playful yet grounded designs that explore character narratives using visual storytelling. They studied theatre at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where they found a love of storytelling through performance. They got their start in the New York Cities DIY theatre and music scenes creating looks for glamorous weirdos mostly from found materials. They later found their way to film where they polished their craft and learned make one heck of a spreadsheet. EMay has always been fascinated by human behavior. Their design and directing work are the tools for that exploration. EMay further sharpened her skills by assisting prop and food stylists, working with Rebecca Donnelly, Stephanie Yeh, and Ali Nardi. Projects assisted on include work for Maybelline, La Mer, Fenty, La Roche Posey, Stella Artois, Jack Daniels, Amazon, Aperol, Scentbird, E.L.F., Lay’s, Apple TV x Ted Lasso, Luxardo, and Chobani.
